Bus Transfers To and From Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport is located about 185 km from London, in the West Midlands region of England. Birmingham is only 10 km from the airport, and is also nearby areas such as Solihull, Coventry, Redditch, Dudley, Wolverhampton and Cannock. These are the two main bus routes at the airport, and they operate continuously throughout the day, to the later hours of the night.

National Express Coaches

National Express coaches serve destinations, which are further away from the airport, as they are long-distance coaches, however, National Express also serves many local areas. National Express offers an easy and convenient way to travel to the airport, and even with direct services from Cambridge and Wolverhampton. The coaches make use of Bus Stop G in front of Terminal 1’s arrival area, and are frequently available all through the day, seven days a week. Passengers can also use the services of National Express to travel to other airports in London, such as Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, Stansted Airport and Luton Airport.

When travelling with National Express, passengers are allowed two pieces of medium sized luggage each, which should not weigh more than 20 km per piece, and one small item of hand luggage per person.The drivers of the bus are more than willing to help you load your luggage into the secure hold. In order to arrive in good time for your departure flight from Birmingham , it is recommended to leave a minimum of one hour between your coach arrival and flight check-in time.

Megabus coach services

Megabus is a very popular coach operator in North America and the UK, and serves various destinations from Birmingham Airport. They are part of the Stagecoach Group, and began their services in the UK in 2003. Megabus now links around 50 different locations in the United Kingdom, and serves more than two million passengers per year. They are well known for their high quality and low-cost travel offers with some of the country’s most modern coaches.

Passengers on Megabus coaches are allowed one piece of reasonably sized luggage per person that should not weigh more than 20 kg. A small piece of hand luggage that can fit under the seat in front of you is also permitted. If more items of luggage are brought with, Megabus has the right to refuse these items if there is a shortage of space on the bus, or charge extra for excess baggage.

Disabled passengers should book their seat on the Megabus at least 48 hours in advance of its departure. The number to call is 0141 332 9841, and passengers should specify the date, time and destination of their travel plans, and if someone will be accompanying the disabled passenger on the journey. A wheelchair bound person will remain in their wheelchair for the duration of the trip, unless that person is able to climb the stairs onto the bus. In this case, the wheelchair will be folded and stored on the bus and the passenger will take a regular seat. A bus with sufficient space and equipment will then be allocated to take the journey you have requested. If there is no available bus, the Megabus agent will advise another suitable departure time.
